Oddworld Stranger

Have you played Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath?
I just started playing Stranger’s Wrath on Xbox. I am stuck on the level where you learn how to hunt for live ammo. How can I get the Stranger to cross the river? I tried to have him swim across, but there doesn’t seem to be a way up on the other side of the river. I can get him to climb on top of the buildings, but there doesn’t seem to be a way across that either.
Can anybody help with this, or know of a good walkthrough online (either video or written)?
Thanks! Shooting a zapfly did extend the bridge. I had to restart that level; I don’t know what I did wrong the first time, but the second time around I found the glowing blue thing. I’m on my way to looking for the next bounty.

Stranger’s Wrath is a great game, and if I remember correctly, you have to shoot the big blue glowing thing with a charged zapfly, which extends a bridge. However, if that doesn’t work, then try one of these walkthroughs.
